Hi Andy

Thanks for stopping, I turned on your link at my Students page and commented about the eZine thing at your place.
It was basically a hasty first attempt they reviewed and felt it was more like sales copy.
I intend to get deeper into it again soon once I clear away some other to do's.

Regards!

Thanks Theresa

It's planted in my cranium firmly now to make sure there are no artifacts at the end of my posts. It sure is strange how the sidebar would be affected like that with things shifting so drastically down the page.

I found an editor called HTML Kit a few years back that is free. I began fiddling with it when I was learning to my eBay auction template.

When I would see something I wanted to use from another template I would use the "Open URL" function to import that page and then delete things until only the bit I needed was left.

Reverse engineering like that actually helps in getting an understanding of how the HTML Code works.

I have gone back to it now for a testing ground before adding things here and also to see what Tags, etc others are using to get Google rankings.

Another free proggy I hear is quite good is Nvu.

Cheers!

Been there, done that with regards to using Word. I don't do that any more.

I just downloaded an html editor software and will let you know how I like it. I'll put a link in My Tips & Tools page if it works okay. I always like to test things before recommending them.

Let me know when you have your video up for viewing.
Theresa

Hi Clayton,

Thanks for coming over my way a few times recently. I appreciate it. Glad you gave some explanation to your "fanny" term. That has a vastly different meaning in Oz! You can see my comments over at my blog.

When you write in "Word," copy it and dump it into "Notepad" where it will be stripped bare of formatting and THEN copy it from there and drop it into your blog. Takes just a few seconds. No biggie. Then you can format it the way you want.

Also Clayton, never discount that some of those very high rankings for whatever keyword, may have got to where they are using "techniques" unseen by the human eye. Google eventually gets around to penalising those type of sites and they just disappear from the rankings altogether. That's short term thinking for short term gain but in the long-term it is suicide.

You can read all about such techniques over at Google's TOS page. Have a read. It's quite fascinating what some people will do to cheat their way to the top. And then, when they get caught, Google slaps them. Bang - GONE!

Catch you later Clayton.

Gary

Hi Theresa!
Thanks for visiting.
The comment problem was on my end.
I did my last couple of posts in Word and it turns out if there is anything
like empty lines at the end it messes up the right sidebar.
Deleted everything after the end and all good now.
See you soon!

Hi Clayton,
I almost didn't find the comments area. It's way down at the bottom of the page. But, it might be my browser or something.

Anyway, I'm fascinated with all the SEO stuff. You seem to have a good understanding of it. It won't take you long to figure out
the video skills and you already have a Flip HD camera!

Steve Gracia is very skilled at video and I'm learning a lot from JT about keyword research and SEO. I had to redo my video
and it's up and running now.

Wishing you all the best,
Theresa

Hi Ross
Looks like Steve Harold leap frogged JJ & Jason up into 3rd spot on Page 1 and I slid down to the bottom of page 7, another on page 18, and my latest post isn't on the 1st 40 pages. Well someday I'll almost know what I'm doing.
Gotta get out there and work on getting more links as well as start on video.
Can't really afford to do outsourcing as yet so doing it all takes time.

I checked your page and noticed your images not showing on the graphics ad. I'll send a screen shot.

Now with MyBlogLog stuff I assume you followed the setup and have your Tracking code pasted right under the
tag in your Header using Editor in your Wordpress Dashboard.
I haven't settled yet, but the first thing I did was follow the "Grab This" Link on another site from the widget you see on the bottom left Sidebar here. The actual page is http://www.mybloglog.com/buzz/community/com_wid...
I did the setup design and sizing and pasted the code in my sidebar_l in the Editor.

On my right sidebar you will see Community Members and Recent Visitors Boxes - those are there courtesy of the MyBlogLog Plugin you can get by going to Plugins - Add New, and search MyBlogLog - quite easy.

The one further down on the right is the About Me Widget that you tailor at MyBlogLog under your My Accounts Tab.
I pasted the code into the Sidebar_r box in my editor. This one is cool cuz as you add your accounts under your services, the chicklets show up automatic like.

They also have a "New with Me" widget that I think I'm going to add to replace the Tweet Box because it show a lot more activity than just Twitter stuff.
I also want to try to work these into a text widget to try and keep my theme clean so check by in a couple days and see how I did.

Hope this helps and I'll also send this to your Mail.

Regards!
